Attendance Policy
Under Minnesota State Law, school attendance is mandatory. If a student reaches 15 Consecutive Absences they will be dropped from our program and unenrolled from their classes.
Students have until 11:55pm to check in for their classes. There will be a reminder sent home to parents around 5pm that their student has not checked in for their class yet for the day, but this does not mean they are marked unexcused.
How to take Attendance at LOA
Student's will need to check into their classes everyday to be counted for attendance. If you do not, you will be marked absent for the day. You have the ability to check in until 11:55pm each night. When you log into Infinite Campus, there will be a Check In button. That is where you will check in each day!
Below is a link to a video showing you how to check in everyday to your classes.
Part-Time Student Attendance Reminder
Lakeville Online Academy and their programming is separated from Lakeville North and Lakeville South High Schools. Therefore, attendance is a completely different system (See procedures above). Students who are enrolled in any Lakeville Online class, will be responsible for taking their own attendance. Parents are also responsible for requesting excused absences for their students through Lakeville Online Academy and their protocols.
Parents: If you need to request any absence for your student, please call or send us an email at the contacts listed above. We do not have an absence request system through Infinite Campus. We also are not connected to Lakeville North and South's Attendance lines. So, if you call there to excuse your student, they will not be excused for their online class until you also contact us.
With that, students who are taking a class through LOA have until 11:55pm to check in for their online class. There will be a reminder email/phone call sent out to parents around 5pm if their student has not checked in for the day. This reminder does not mean they are marked unexcused for the day, it just serves as a reminder to students to check in for their classes that day.
If you should have any questions regarding attendance, you can reach out to our main office at 952-232-3900.
